Jean Atkin was commissioned to write a poem for Radio 4’s Something Understood on the theme of Bread. It was broadcast on 23rd August.

Jean Atkin was runner-up in the Prole Laureate competition 2015. She won the Fire River Poets competition 2014/15,and was Poet in Residence at Wenlock Poetry Festival, reading in the final Gala evening with Carol Ann Duffy and Imtiaz Dharker.

Jean Atkin will be Poet in Residence for Wenlock Poetry Festival 2015. She will be running workshops, writing commissioned poems and performing at the Festival. On the last night’s finale event, she will read with Carol Ann Duffy and Imtiaz Dharker.
