Congratulations to Oz Hardwick, who has just been made Professor of English at Leeds Trinity University College. Oz’s Oversteps collection is ‘The Illuminated Dreamer’.

On Friday 18th March, Oz Hardwick, Anne Stewart and Alwyn Marriage will be giving a poetry reading at the Oxfam Bookshop, 69 Low Petergate, York. Admission is free, but donations to Oxfam will be welcomed.

There is an Acumen poetry day on Saturday, 12th February. Alwyn Marriage will be running a writing workshop from 10-30 to 12.30; there is an open mike from 1.00 to 2.00; and then Ian Caws and Alwyn Marriage will be reading from 2.30 to 4.0pm. Ross Cogan’s poem, ‘My Life as a Dog’ has been published on the online magazine Ink, Sweat & Tears, edited by Helen Ivory.

A C Clarke has been highly commended in the Sonnet or Not competition and her poem published in The Cannon’s Mouth. She was also commended in the Ver poets competition, John Cotton’s Ten-Liners. A sequence of four of her poems appear in the latest issue of Acumen and four more will be published in the Glasgow-based magazine, Gutter.
Oz Hardwick has a poem included in the forthcoming Indigo Dreams anthology, Soul Feathers, in which a number of well-known poets have contributed poems in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. He will be in illustrious company, as the other poets include Carol Ann Duffy, Seamus Heaney, Bob Dylan, Benjamin Zephaniah, Leonard Cohen, Sharon Olds and Maya Angelou. Price £11.
